Kumite/Sparring
Competition Development Program
The KUMITE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM is a bi-weekly (1.5 hour) program focusing on tournament preparation. The focus is on kumite/sparring. Students will learn development skills through a series of drills and exercises aimed at preparing for competitions and preparing for potential future provincial team selection. Kumite drills, speed & coordination exercises, tournament rules and other related subjects will be introduced throughout the program.
Instructor: Daniel Verzotti - 6th Degree Black Belt - Chief Instructor of Alberta JKA Karate Association.
September to December: $75 (5 training sessions of 1.5 hours each)
Classes are limited to 20 participants.
- Minimum rank of green belt
- For ages 12 years old to adults
- Must have sparring gloves, shin/instep protectors, groin protector, mouth guard, body protector, chest protector

The KATA DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM is a bi-weekly (1.5 hour) program focusing on tournament preparation. The focus is on kata for tournaments. Students will learn advanced katas and practice drills aimed at preparing for competitions and preparing for potential future provincial team selection. Tournament rules and other related subjects will be introduced throughout the program.
- Minimum rank of green belt
- For ages 12 years old to adults
September to December: $75 (5 training sessions of 1.5 hours each)
Classes are limited to 10 participants.
